Color Chips Ahoy!

Solvent Applications

PanTINT® 60

Nitrocellulose Pigment Dispersions are used in printing inks and coatings for film and foil stock that require exceptionally high gloss and transparency, and superior rheological properties. These pigment dispersions can be formulated into coatings and inks comparable to those made with chips, without the time and energy required to dissolve chips. The pigments in this line are those that are normally used for packaging applications.

PanTINT® 70

Plasticizer Pigment Dispersions are used for coloring plastisol, calendered and extruded vinyl products, nitrocellulose and vinyl lacquers. They contain no solvent and are compatible with most non-aqueous liquid systems, and can therefore be used in many applications where they do not cause excessive softening of the coating.

PanTINT® 70 and 72 Series

PanTINT® 70 and 72 Series are concentrated pigment dispersions in a plasticizer base. Compatible with a wide range of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin formulations for thermoplastic applications. The Pigments chosen for the 70 and 72 Series exhibit color brilliance, strength, chemical and UV resistance and lightfastness. Most are suitable for interior and exterior applications. The 70 Series are pigments dispersed in a monomeric pthalate plasticizer while the 72 Series are dispersed in pthalate compliant plasticizer.

PanTINT® 86

Industrial “Universal” solvent thinned pigment dispersions are based on a unique modified thermoplastic acrylic with broad compatibility in most solvent borne high performance coatings. Typical uses include general industrial coatings, machinery and implement enamels, lacquers, marine coatings, aerospace coatings, maintenance coatings, aerosol paints, auto refinish, and pressure sensitive adhesives. PanTINT® 86 Series colorants are compatible with most acrylics, alkyds, CAB, chlorinated rubber, two component epoxy, epoxy ester, polyesters, polyurethane, two component polyurethane, alkyd melamine and vinyl lacquers.

PanTINT® 87

Alkyd dispersions are based on a modified long oil alkyd designed for maximum compatibility in ambient cured and low bake solvent based paints and coatings. These products are typically used in architectural paints, interior and exterior wood stains, machinery and implement enamels, general industrial coatings, maintenance coatings and aerosol paints. PanTINT ® 87 Series dispersions are compatible with long-, medium-, and short-oil alkyds, vinyl toluene alkyds, oil and alkyd modified urethanes, polyesters, phenolics and epoxy esters.

Aqueous applications

PanTINT® 90

Water Based dispersions are formulated to have broad compatibility in a wide variety of ambient cured and baking systems including architectural coatings, machinery and implement enamels, general industrial coatings, maintenance coatings, aerosol paints, aerospace coatings, rubber latex, and pressure sensitive adhesives. PanTINT® 90 Series dispersions are generally compatible with acrylic, vinyl acrylic, vinyl acetate and styrene butadiene emulsions, water reducible acrylics, alkyds, polyesters and epoxies, and Polyurethane PUD.

PanTINT® 94

Water Based glycol and solvent free colorants are designed for low and zero VOC aqueous coatings and inks. They are freeze-thaw stable and superior resistance to drying in the container when compared with competitive solvent free aqueous colorants. They have exceptionally broad compatibility and can be used in ambient cured and baking finishes based on acrylic, vinyl acrylic, vinyl acetate and styrene butadiene emulsions, water reducible acrylics, alkyds, polyesters and epoxies, and Polyurethane PUD resins.

PanTINT® 95

Aqueous Resin Based Pigment Dispersion Series includes aqueous dispersions based on a variety of aqueous dispersing resins. These products include custom dispersions for virtually any water based coating or ink. Some PanTINT ® 95 Series Colorants are manufactured using the PanTINT ® 18 Chips which can be used in water flexo inks and similar applications requiring superior gloss and transparency.
